Cannabis Clone Care Guide (Freshly Shipped Clones)

Proper care during the first 24–72 hours is critical for healthy, successful cannabis clones. Follow the steps below to minimize stress and ensure a smooth transition into your grow environment.

1. Receive & Unpack Immediately

  • Open your package within 1 hour of delivery.

  • Remove clones gently from packaging.

  • Inspect plants for moisture and overall health.

  • Do not place clones in direct light or heat immediately after opening.

2. Begin Slow Acclimation

***Shipped clones are sensitive after transit and need time to adjust***

  • Place clones in a low-light area (indirect light or dim grow light).

  • Maintain temperatures between 70–78°F (21–26°C).

  • Avoid strong airflow for the first day.

3. Increase Humidity

Clones rely on humidity while roots establish.

  • Mist plants lightly with clean water 2–3 times per day.

  • This helps prevent wilting and supports transpiration.

  • Do not oversaturate leaves—fine mist only.

4. Optional: Temporary Cover (First 24 Hours)

Depending on your climate and environment:

  • You may cover the clones with a humidity dome or clear plastic for the first 24 hours.

  • This helps acclimate the plant to your region and reduces shock.

  • Vent briefly once or twice to allow fresh air exchange.

5. Transplant Within 24 Hours

  • Transplant clones within 24 hours of receiving them.

  • This prevents the rooting cube from drying out.

  • Use a light, well-aerated medium (soil or coco).

6. First Watering & Nutrients

  • Water immediately after transplanting.

  • Use mild nutrients (¼ strength or clone/seedling formula).

  • Avoid heavy feeding—clones are sensitive at this stage.

  • Ensure good drainage and do not overwater.

7. Aftercare (Days 2–7)

  • Gradually increase light intensity over several days.

  • Reduce misting as roots establish.

  • Remove humidity cover after the first day.

  • Monitor for drooping—minor stress is normal and usually resolves quickly.

Important Notes

  • Do not overfeed or overwater.

  • Avoid transplant shock by keeping conditions stable.

  • Healthy clones should perk up within 24–72 hours.
